Welcome to the Woodmead / Khyber Rock Residents Association
The WKKRA, founded in 1984, represents the neighbourhood at the Ward 106 Council Committee, the Sandton Community Police Forum (CPF), Sector One Crime Forum meetings as well as on the Combined Chairmen Committee dealing with Road Closures and the JUST organisation (Johannesburgers United for Sustainable Tomorrows).
The WKRRA undertakes the monitoring and organisation of ongoing communication with all contributing residents in matters of concern, which include but are not limited to…
➢ interaction with the City of Joburg regarding Region E-infrastructure;
➢ monitoring & alerting residents of re-zoning within the area, organising of formal Objections, representation at Tribunals;
➢ monitoring of the general security within the public spaces of the neighbourhood;
➢ oversight of the Licence Plate Registration cameras and the Oversight cameras throughout the neighbourhood;
➢ oversight of the 2 dedicated 24/7 Security Patrol vehicles that serve the community and patrol our boundaries both day and night;
➢ organisation of the local Domestic Workers Forum offering safety and security lessons for these important caretakers of our homes;
➢ repairs and maintenance of the boom areas and oversight of the iMvula Boom guards;
➢ oversight of the gardening services and various other administration issues.
All residents are encouraged to contribute towards the WKRRA by means of a monthly levy currently [2020/09/01>2021/08/31] standing at R430 per stand-alone home, and R275 per home within a gated complex and R660 for those who operate legal businesses from their homes. Negotiated discounts can be arranged for Senior Citizens.
It is only with this financial backing that we can ensure that the value of our homes and properties remain protected.
